Raised beds continued

There have been some exciting developments in the raised garden beds department!

On a rainy Saturday a couple of weeks ago, some Blake parents got together and built raised beds for that garden. Here are before and after pictures of the Blake Garden:

After – doesn’t it look great!?!

Now we’re waiting for a big soil delivery next Wednesday, and once the beds are filled I can’t wait to get planting! I’m also super thankful to the parent who repaired the lid of the compost bin – it looks a lot more durable now!

As I wrote earlier, the Withrow garden is also getting amazing new wooden garden beds. As of Tuesday, three of the five new beds were in the garden and filled with soil. The grade 3s and their teacher have been doing TONS of work! We even already planted some seeds (lettuce, spinach and peas) in there on Tuesday with some grade 1s! Here’s a picture of how the garden looked as of Tuesday:

Three garden beds ready to go! There will be another big bed in the far end of the garden, and the perennial herb bed needs to be dug in and the plants transplanted into the new soil. (The big pile of soil in the middle is just soil in transit.)

Happy growing!
